Monica Angel and Stan Liberatore wanted to raise awareness and education about childhood cancer in a different way, beyond the typical galas and fundraisers.
Through the Save the Kids Foundation, there will be an all-day event focused on medical technology and some of the top health care executives under one roof in the first Disrupt the Bay event on Thursday.
“What is missing when it comes to awareness about kids with cancer is the education piece,” Angel said. “The people supporting it will support you the more they learn about it and they want to continue learning about it. … We’re not expecting them to listen about it for five, six, seven hours. But make something they want to go regardless; make a portion for education but it’s also a fundraiser.”
